GenMet is involved with several different high school robotic teams. Although it is exciting to see each team work together, we make sure not to give any secrets away. We are here to help and it’s exciting to see students making cool and creative designs. It is important to GenMet that we not only support the teams by building parts for their robots but that we also work to develop their understanding of how the workplace operates. The students must provide designs and work through revisions of parts as necessary. We encourage that the students tour our facility to be present during the fabrication of the parts. Additionally, the students are the ones that interface with GenMet regarding the request for parts and follow up on design and fabrication work. This ensure their full engagement in the process in hopes that the learn lessons beyond just making the parts. We are looking forward to helping again this year.
