Clean Team to the Rescue!

Here’s a quick and easy way to stay clean but also gives your employee’s a chance to work as a team and work together. Best of luck to each area!

As crazy as these last couple months have been; we’ve noticed that keeping and maintaining the production area clean has been a challenge. It’s not that employee’s are trying to avoid cleaning; however, in their eyes it’s more important to complete a project before their shift ends, rather than taking five minutes to stop what they are doing and clean. Although we want our employee’s to focus on completing each task it is also very important to keep an organized station.

GenMet has created a new cleaning system in order to keep the production area cleaned. We recruited team captains for each section of the building and these captains are responsible for checking their section each day to making sure everyone is clean and organized.  We have 5 different captains that will cover the laser area, welding area, the middle section of the production area, etc. Not only did we recruit captains but we also had to assign an inspector.  The inspector’s job is to check each area to see if each captain worked with their manufacturers to create a clean and organized environment.

Once the inspector has checked each area, he will then put a check by the teams name if they did their job. If they didn’t take the time to clean up, then they will receive an X by their name. Each week we will tally up who had the cleanest days. A little competition will not hurt so we decided that whatever team is the cleanest over the month will be rewarded a lunch party.
