Speed and Accuracy in Turret Punching

LP FINN-POWER LASER PUNCH

In 2007, GenMet acquired a Turret Laser Flexible Manufacturing System equipped with a 10-shelf tower, which can run parts lights out, unattended and overnight. The turret / laser work area is 60” x 120”, and we use NC-Express nesting for the best material utilization.

Materials handled in this system include:

  • Mild Steel up to 10 ga.
  • Stainless Steel up to 10 ga.
  • Aluminum up to .190”

GenMet’s Finn Power Turret Laser offers an outstanding combination of manufacturing speed and punching accuracy, as well as versatile options for secondary work stages such as forming and tapping. Our machine features new coordinate table design for a maximum sheet size of 60” x 120” without repositioning. The punching, forming, tapping, marking and laser cutting options in this integrated machine means component manufacturing can be planned for optimum quality and speed of production.

Whatever the part to be fabricated is, we can choose the most efficient manufacturing method or the best combination of processes. For example, when laser cutting is required, a pre-punched start hole reduces laser-cutting time. No piercing occurs, and lens life is prolonged, as there are no harmful reflections from the surface of the material. Such an effective integration enables GenMet to fabricate parts with short lead-times more cost effectively.
